Why it matters
A programme is a contract document. Reviewers read it like one.
¼
of the Price for Work Done to Date is retained until a first programme showing the required information is submitted, where none is identified in the Contract Data.
NEC4 ECC · clause 50.52weeks
for the Project Manager to accept a submitted programme or give reasons for not accepting it.
NEC4 ECC · clause 31.314
checks in the DCMA 14-Point Assessment, the schedule health test many reviewers run first.

Meet the project
The Vanguard Footbridge: you'll build it, schedule it and watch it go up
A 38 m steel footbridge lifted over a busy dual carriageway in a single weekend road closure. It's small enough to build live in five hours and real enough to teach calendars, logic, constraints, float and delay.

Who it's for
For anyone who builds, reviews or relies on a programme
Starting outAspiring planners
Engineers, quantity surveyors and site staff moving into planning who want the P6 skills employers test at interview.
BuildingPlanners and schedulers
You build programmes every week and want them accepted first time, with fewer comments and resubmissions.
ReviewingProject controls teams
You review contractor programmes and need to spot weak logic, hidden float and unrealistic dates quickly.
OwningProject managers
You own the programme and want to read float and the critical path with confidence, without waiting for a planner to translate.
What you'll learn
By the end of the session you'll be able to
Practical habits you can use on Monday morning, on whatever programme you're working on.
- Turn a one-page project brief into a WBS, two calendars and 35 activities in P6.
- Write logic that holds, including a justified lag, resource logic and a date constraint.
- Read total float and the critical path, and explain how a constraint can hide float.
- Test a delay and show why six days late on the steel costs four weeks.
- Run a DCMA 14-point check and explain the exceptions instead of hiding them.
- Know what an NEC4 Project Manager checks under clause 31 before accepting a programme.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can't see your question? Email support@thetruetroop.com and we'll get back to you.
Is it really free?
Yes. There's no charge and no card details. In the final part of the session Dr. Osadare explains how the Vanguard cohort of the Primavera P6 Masterclass works, for anyone who wants to go further. There's no obligation.
Do I need Primavera P6 installed?
No. You can watch, take notes and still get full value. If you have P6 Professional or P6 EPPM, you can build along with us, and everyone gets the finished project file (XER) afterwards. There's a Microsoft Project version too.
What is the Vanguard Footbridge?
A fictional but realistic sample project: a 38 m steel footbridge lifted over a dual carriageway in one weekend road closure. We use it to build, schedule and stress-test a programme live, and you keep the files.
I'm new to planning. Will I keep up?
Yes. The session starts from first principles and builds up. Experienced planners tend to get the most from the float, baseline and DCMA segments.
What time is it where I am?
The masterclass is on Saturday 7 November, 9:00am – 2:00pm GMT (UK time). UK clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, so the UK will be on GMT, not BST.
